Where has the year gone? I can barely believe it’s October!
Wow. What a month September was. A historical month, with the death of Queen Elizabeth II, which catapulted the UK into an eleven day period of national mourning. All Live TV presenters wore black or dark colours, and all newspapers had black banners – even the tabloids. Also, from a personal point of view, I had some news which was rather disturbing, and sent me into a difficult spiral – which I thankfully, was helped through by my magnificent husband and family. Reading wasn’t really my priority, and I found myself falling behind on reviews. Instead, I spent a lot of time making Halloween decorations out of Paper-Mache. A gluey, messy, chaotic experience – and I’m still not done.
My daughter started her A-Levels, and we’re already looking at universities – just as her wonderful cousin started her own university course.
Anyway. Enough about me and my chaotic life – you’re here to read about books!
1 – To Wield a Crown – Helen Scheuerer. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
When the Queen of Fantasy asked if her readers would be interested in the final book of Curse of the Cyren Queen being released early, there was a resounding ‘yes’ from me. Which I’m sure she heard from the other side of the globe. Roh’s story comes to a climactic, heartbreaking end. And it’s a book I urge you to read. No., Actually, if you haven’t read the series, go and do it now. It’s available on Kindle Unlimited, and I promise you, you’ll thank me later.

2 – Dichotomy Girls – Beth Stillman Baha. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
A thrilling, dark novel which is set in a hospital treating girls with apparent brain injuries. The girls are more less kept prisoners in the ward, being allowed to leave only to offer homeopathic therapy to people too rich for their own good. When a new girl arrives on the ward, one girl’s simple existence is thrown into chaos as the hospitals secrets are blown wide open.

So, there you have it! I know there are only seven books in this list, but as explained, September has been a strange month for me, where reading wasn’t my main priority.
Although, I can let you into a secret… I’ve already (and it’s only the 3rd of October) read some amazing books that are due for release this month, and I’m sure there’s more to come!
