*Giddy dancing*
It’s exactly 30 days until the e-book version of The Witch Laws goes live, and I have my little launch party. And, well… It’s been a whirlwind.
I decided to have a launch party after I’d spent the day in a lovely bar in my local town centre; it’s attached to a library, where my friend was studying and so I went to keep her company. I set up the laptop in the bar, and sat and did some work on book two. It was lovely, with excellent coffee, soft drinks and a nice atmosphere. I managed to get a fair bit of work done while my friend was studying and then we decided to get some food.
The food was delicious. Honestly; I practically hoovered it down.
It was while we were eating that my friend suggested that I should ask about if I could do a launch party there. That it’s attached to a library just made it even more suitable. So, I went up to the bar and asked and they said yes. I organised the invites on my private profile, and yeah.
I’ll be honest here, far more people have expressed an interest in coming than I anticipated – and some people were suggesting that they were going to get hold of a paperback copy in time for it, for me to sign. I mean… what? My daughter told me that she wanted a signed copy, and I just kind of nervous laughed. But she was serious. So, I suppose that means I have to start practicing my signature? And make sure I have a working pen.
One thing I have done is ordered a pretty, floaty dress with wide sleeves. I feel magical in it, and quite special. It’s not often that that actually happens, but there you go. I’ve got some new boots, too, which are spectacular. They’re plain, but the laces on them remind me of the type of footwear that Seren and Elsha, especially would wear. It’s going to be a big occasion for me, so I’m gonna make a wee effort in my appearance – for once. I’m also planning on drinking a fair few cocktails to help celebrate.
Anyway.
With the fact that the paperback is being ‘soft launched’ (as in, I’ve not set a specific date for the launch, it’s just available now), it could seem a bit daft that I’m still counting down until July 1st. But that date has been set in stone since April, and I feel as though it’s going to be a mile-stone for me. It’s still my official launch – mainly as I was so focused on the e-book and how that sells and how many pages are read. The paper back is exciting, and I’m still kind of twirling around with it – but I won’t feel like a fully published author until it’s live on Kindle Unlimited.
Anyway.
