Aries Armed – Tamar Sloan and Tricia Barr

    🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕

The Zodiac’s are at odds with each other. The death of Richard Sinclair means that his company is being hotly contested between Brielle’s adoptive parents Frank and Bea, as well as Richard’s adopted daughter Cassandra. With Brielle’s and Cassandra’s renewed friendship somewhat fragile, will this mean that the contest for Sinclair Holding’s will mean a rift between the Guardians? Not to mention that Tristan still does not trust Kerrim, despite him seeming to have saved his life. There’s just something about Kerrim that makes the de-facto leader of the Zodiac Guardians uneasy, and although it might be just be because of his connection to Brielle, Tristan knows he can’t let his feelings get in the way of their ultimate goal. Defeat Chardis and save the Arc full of the refugees from Chardis’ reign of destruction. Oh, and they also need to find the Aries, the Gemini Twin and the Pisces Guardians – otherwise, well. It doesn’t bear thinking about.

So, when Ethan, a military man with an almost uncanny ability to evade any attack and an almost supernatural precision when it comes to taking enemies, saves Tristan and Shreya from being run over, it seems as though the Zodiac’s luck is about to change. He’s the Aries Guardian – and what’s more – he knows it. All he wants to do is to return to the Arc and the love of his life.

As ever, with this series of books, Sloan and Barr have created a new character who brings a new level of talent to the Zodiac pool. He’s athletic and super focused, with an intensity that’s almost bordering on an obsession. But it’s skills that the team needs, especially with the relationships between them beginning to fray. Kerrim is spreading discord amongst the previously tight-knit group, attempting to fuel a feud between Brielle and Cassandra. He’s using manipulation and Tristan’s attraction for Brielle to his advantage – spurring them further apart and helping his own agenda.

I absolutely can not wait for Pisces Dreaming to hit the shelves; and I can’t help but wonder whether the Guardians will finally realise that their own feelings are as important as destiny when it comes to their soul mates.
