It&#8217;s consumed her; leaving her a shell of a woman as she honed her body to become a performer worthy of being invited into the princes court.  She has planned every single detail, from her acrobatics to hiding the iron dagger in the rafters of the theatre.  But when her moment finally comes, she&#8217;s stabbed by the bitter blade of betrayal.  And now, her life belongs to him.  As Zita begins her new life as the Prince&#8217;s &#8216;pet&#8217; she finds a new zeal for life.  She realises that she&#8217;s spent the last decade as a ghost of her sister; shedding her own personality and feelings in her desperate hunt.  But that doesn&#8217;t mean she&#8217;s going to stop plotting to kill the Prince who now holds her life in his hands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Slaying the Shifter Prince <\/em>is the second book of the <em>Mortal Enemies to Monster Lovers<\/em> series by five different authors.  All of the books are stand-alone stories &#8211; although each one of them are also a part of the separate authors&#8217; own fantasy realms.  And as the title of the series suggests, they&#8217;re all romantic.  But&#8230;  Don&#8217;t expect roses and chocolates from these tales.  They&#8217;re brutal, savage and very, very erotic.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This offering, in particular is brutal.  Hate fills the sex between Zita and Sepher as much as love &#8211; if not more.  They clash and they fight, and the sex is&#8230;  Well.  Its teeth, claws and almost animalistic.  There&#8217;s nothing soft about either of them, and it&#8217;s pretty damn refreshing.  Out of the three books from <em>Mortal Enemies<\/em>&#8230;  that I&#8217;ve read so far, this one is definitely the most adult.  Zita has no shame when it comes to her body, and neither does Sepher.  They both know they&#8217;re hot, and they flaunt it in front of each other and the rest of Sepher&#8217;s court.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>S.
